The Year of Souls begins with an earthquake—an alarming rumble from deep within the earth—and it’s only the first of greater dangers to come. The Range caldera is preparing to erupt. Ana knows that as Soul Night approaches, everything near Heart will be at risk.
Ana’s exile is frightening, but it may also be fortuitous, especially if she can convince her friends to flee Heart and Range with her. They’ll go north, seeking answers and allies to stop Janan’s ascension. And with any luck, the newsouls will be safe from harm’s reach.
The oldsouls might have forgotten the choice they made to give themselves limitless lifetimes, but Ana knows the true cost of reincarnation. What she doesn’t know is whether she’ll have the chance to finish this one sweet life with Sam, especially if she returns to Heart to stop Janan once and for all.
With gorgeous romance and thrilling action, the final book in the Incarnate trilogy offers a brilliant conclusion to the compelling questions of this fascinating world, where one new girl is the key to the lives of millions.
I am still in denial that this is really over. I fell in love with Ana and Sam this spring when Mary recommended Incarnate to me. As a musician, I loved all of the classical musical elements laced throughout the story. I did not love all of the torture of poor Sam! ): He needs hugs and pets, not torture! (I’m watching you, Jodi!)
I feel this is the best of the trilogy. The ups and downs the cast faces are nerve wracking. The danger, the excitement, the feels! This is definitely a fantastic ending to the trilogy. I’m not happy it’s over by any means. Any more novellas from any of the oldsouls’ perspectives would be welcome! *cough* hint hint Jodi *cough*
If you loved Incarnate and Asunder, you will most likely love Infinite. I won’t tell you that you for sure will because every reader is different. If you haven’t read the first two, I highly recommend you check them out before Infinite comes out! There are dragons, phoenixes, sylph, and all sorts of dangers lurking! It’s a race against time to do the unthinkable. There’s also a bit of romance thrown in. I mean, who could resist Sam? Jodi rips out your heart and pieces it back together over and over from page one to the end. (Have a box of tissues handy, trust me!)
I’m so thankful Jodi allowed me to have an ARC. Having lunch with her and getting the ARC were the best birthday presents ever! I can’t wait until it’s out in the wild! Now the ARC will journey to Texas to be shared with a few of my friends there. Then it will come back to me to be shared with a few others. Being the base of operations coordinating the sharing of Infinite is so full of feels! This as the ONE ARC of upcoming 2014 releases I wanted like no other. Now that I’ve read it I’m just blown away. This is definitely a series I will read over and over again. I haven’t had years with Jodi’s works like I did with Harry Potter and JK Rowling, but this is definitely up with HP in my book love favourites. I can’t wait to read her other works as they come!
If you could choose one ARC that you would LOVE to get your hands on NOW, what would it be and why? I shared mine and I would love to hear about yours!
