Why I started blogging.
No real particular reason, honestly. Thought I’d start blogging about recipes my husband and I tried out in our new kitchen in our new house in our new roles as husband and wife/father and mother. We both love cooking, and I love trying new recipes. That idea didn’t stick so well. A demanding newborn grew into a baby then into a toddler and was joined by a baby sister. That leads to the reading. I’ve always loved reading and after reading my friend, Mary H.’s blog over at Mary Had a Little Book Blog, I decided I wanted to share my thoughts on books I read with others. I do occasionally share recipes on my feature Friday Feasts. I have split the children’s literature aspect of my blog into its own blog The Voyages of the Backyard Explorers.
Honestly, I don’t know. When I was a young adult, the young adult section in my hometown library had a pitiful selection and that was when my love of Star Wars novels, adult historical fiction and adult fantasy began. I guess it was a combination of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series and Melissa de la Cruz’s Blue Bloods series that kept me tethered to the exploding YA world. Now when technically I should be reading “adult” literature, I can’t help but be drawn to YA.
