Today, I’m excited to be part of the cover reveal for The Social Media Experiment by Cole Gibsen! The Social Media Experiment releases 2 September 2014 from Entangled Teen!

The Social Media Experiment 500x750

The Social Media Experiment official blurb:

On the surface, seventeen-year-old Reagan Fray appears to have everything. She’s popular, Ivy League–bound, and her parents are rich enough to buy her whatever she wants. Behind the scenes, Reagan is a girl with an anxiety disorder struggling to hold the fraying threads of her life together. It takes work to stay on top, and when that fails, Reagan’s learned from her politician mother that a little social espionage never hurts. That is, until the day Reagan finds all of her texts and private messages printed out and taped to every locker in her high school.

Finding herself ostracized from her friends and on the receiving end of the bullying she used to dish out, Reagan won’t settle into her new role as social pariah without a fight. Determined to get back in with her friends and reclaim her social status before her mother finds out and sends her to boarding school, Reagan has no choice but to team up with outcast Nolan Letner.

But the closer Reagan gets to Nolan, the more she realizes all of her actions have consequences, and her future might be the biggest casualty of all.

Waiting on Wednesday #35: The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows June 18, 2014

Waiting on Wednesday” is a weekly event hosted by Jill at the Breaking The Spine. It showcases upcoming releases we’re anticipating!

My pick of the week is:

The Orphan Queen (Orphan Queen #1)

By: Jodi Meadows

Coming: March 2015 (expected)

Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books, HarperCollins, HarperTeen

Wilhelmina has a hundred identities.

She is a princess. When the Indigo Kingdom conquered her homeland, Wilhelmina and other orphaned children of nobility were taken to Skyvale, the Indigo Kingdom’s capital. Ten years later, they are the Ospreys, experts at stealth and theft. With them, Wilhelmina means to take back her throne.

She is a spy. Wil and her best friend, Melanie, infiltrate Skyvale Palace to study their foes. They assume the identities of nobles from a wraith-fallen kingdom, but enemies fill the palace, and Melanie’s behavior grows suspicious. With Osprey missions becoming increasingly dangerous and their leader more unstable, Wil can’t trust anyone.

She is a threat. Wraith is the toxic by-product of magic, and for a century using magic has been forbidden. Still the wraith pours across the continent, reshaping the land and animals into fresh horrors. Soon it will reach the Indigo Kingdom. Wilhelmina’s magic might be the key to stopping the wraith, but if the vigilante Black Knife discovers Wil’s magic, she will vanish like all the others

Jodi Meadows introduces a vivid new fantasy full of intrigue, romance, dangerous magic, and one girl’s battle to reclaim her place in the world.

Why I’m excited:

I am so excited about Orphan Queen. Ridiculously excited. I helped spread the word Monday about the cover reveal. Jodi’s post was so awesome. I loved the question segment! I was so excited and in love with the cover, I HAD to do it as my WoW for today. It was originally scheduled MUCH closer to publication, but let’s face it, if you read my blog or check my twitter, you WON’T forget that Orphan Queen is coming. I loved Jodi’s Incarnate world, and I am so flipping excited so see the new world she’s created. I keep threatening to sneak into her house to read it. (: I’m crossing ALL my fingers and toes that I can score an ARC of this beauty. It’s gonna be a super awesome read. I hope there is a swoon worthy guy just like Cris. (: Cris still needs his story told, Jodi!

Why I need you to be excited:

Um, it’s by Jodi Meadows. Do you really need any other reasons? Yes? Well, here you go! LOOK AT THE COVER. It is GORGEOUS. It has MAGIC. C’mon. You know you love magic! Jodi’s been learning calligraphy cause Wil likes it. She’s doing a great job and you should check out her Instagram to see some of her writing! It has SPIES! I love spies! You should love spies! (In stories, not necessarily in real life!) GET EXCITED!

*CoverReveal* The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows! June 16, 2014

Today, Jodi revealed the cover to her newest novel, The Orphan Queen. I was SO excited to see it that I HAD to put up a post about it! You all know how much I love Jodi and the Incarnate trilogy. I CANNOT wait to get my hands on The Orphan Queen. I need it now and I need it quite badly! (: Here it is!

Isn’t it GORGEOUS?! AH! I’m so excited and jittery. I showed it to Punk (who adores Miss Jodi) and he said, “WHOA!” I’ve read bits and pieces of the Incarnate trilogy and a large chunk of Phoenix Overture to him. He loves his Ana and grudgingly thinks Sam is cool.

Click on the cover to head over to Jodi’s page to see the summary and see some questions answered about the series! Closer to release date, keep an eye out for a giveaway! (: What do you think of the cover? (:

Medication: Fluvoxamine 100 mg

INTRO: (In this space please detail your current medication regimen as well as recent medical history)
This is like the fifth time I’ve started this stupid thing.
Just for the record, the only reason I’m doing this is because my mother begged me.

I feel like shit. I can’t sleep. I can’t eat. I have a constant headache. I feel like I’m underwater all of the time. I try to eat, but it’s like something just grabs my throat right at that moment and absolutely no food is going down there. The other day at dinner, I chewed that steak my father made till it turned grey and then I spit it in the garbage.
Problem is, I have to eat to take these stupid pills you’re making me take which, just for the record, aren’t making me feel any better.

Yeah. See above about me feeling like shit.
Pretty much every day.

Detail? Okay. I don’t sleep. When I do, I dream about Sarah. When I wake up I forget for just a second that she’s gone, that she was taken, and for just a minute my life is what it used to be and then it all comes crashing down again. Then I want to hit something until my hand breaks just to make it stop.

Ask my mother how many things I’ve broken. Go ahead. Ask her.

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Dizziness
• Difficulty sleeping/Insomnia
• Palpitations
• Nervousness
• Dry Mouth
• Tachycardia (Increased heart rate)
• Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)

• Confusion

• Well, I did pretty good on the list. All I got to look forward to is not being able to get it up, going insane and killing myself.
• Thanks Doc.

Forever Layla
by: Melissa Turner Lee
Coming: 27 May 2014
Publisher: AltWit Press

What if the woman you envied most is the person you are destined to become?

In 1994, high school senior David Foster was the lackey and soundboard geek for his best friend’s grunge band. During spring break, the band lands a dream gig playing at a motel in Myrtle Beach, SC. David expected all the girls to ogle the guys on stage, but when a beautiful blond “Bond Girl” approaches him and calls him by name, he’s shocked to find out she knows more about him than a stranger should.

She even knows about his notebooks and his visions of time travel.
What she thought was a quick time-travel-sightseeing trip takes a surprising turn when she meets the young adult version of the man she’d heard stories about as a child. His fairy-tale romance with the woman he’d loved, Layla, inspired her to accept nothing less than a love just as strong…but hopefully not as tragic. When she won’t tell the younger version of him her name, he calls her Layla–and the world as she knows it changes forever.

The upside? Reece Michaels, the boy she’s been crushing on for years, is assigned as her Guardian. Callie hopes by spending time together, he’ll start to see her as more than just his best friend’s sister.
The downside? She’s in a race not only against time, but another Champion and Guardian-a Guardian who stands to threaten her developing relationship with Reece.
Magic, mistaken identities, and hidden agendas are the least of Callie’s worries when she learns the Cordial requires a sacrifice. Will Callie be willing to risk all, even Reece, to complete her task as Champion, or will she let the portal fall, destroying both realms?

And now, the cover for FAERY MARKED.

*Cover Reveal* As You Turn Away by Molli Moran January 10, 2014

I have the incredible privilege of revealing a cover to you today! It’s for the amazing Molli Moran’s debut novel, As You Turn Away! Without further ado…

Book Information

Title: AS YOU TURN AWAY (The Walker Boys #1)
Tentative release date: March 1, 2014

Goodreads link: Here

Cover designer: Marie.

When Quinnlan Reynolds left home at 18, she escaped her small, Georgia town and her suffocating upbringing. She started a new life as a ballerina, and tasted freedom for the first time. But four years later, her first visit home turns tragic. Reeling, Quinn tries to piece her life back together again. But doing so is easier said than done when sexy Jonah Walker saunters back into her life.

Quinn shattered Jonah’s heart once, so getting involved with her isn’t something he’s sure he’s ready to do again. He became someone he didn’t recognize when he left home. He’s spent the last years burying his pain by keeping everyone in his life at arm’s length. Now he needs to get to know his family again, and finally become who he wants to be.

But neither Quinn or Jonah can stay away from each other, especially when old feelings resurface. Something is pulling them back together, and they can’t deny their chemistry for long. One Georgia summer could change both their lives forever, if they can work through their past to have a future together.

Molli has graciously allowed those on her reveal tour to share an excerpt with you! As if the cover isn’t enough of a temptation to add this to your TBR! (: Now, I have to confess. Contemporary is not my preferred genre.  That being said, I am always open to giving a book a try to see if I can venture further into a particular genre. Ladies and gents, I do believe this will be one of those hook, line, and sinker books! (:  Now! The excerpt! (It’s a flashback)

Excerpt #1: Flashback | Jonah and Quinn meeting

I was thinking about your eyes.” Quinn clapped her free hand over her mouth, but not fast enough to muffle the squeak she made. “I mean, I wasn’t. I mean, I was, but not like – “ She fumbled, and finally shut her mouth, since Mystery Guy wasn’t going to offer her a graceful way out of the mess she’d made.

“Well, I like them too, but this is the first time they’ve had this effect.”

By some miracle, he was still talking to her. Quinn dropped her hand to her side, and then yanked the other one away from his when she realized she was still touching him. His skin was warmer than hers, the sort of heat that zinged through her. “What effect?”

“Rendering a pretty girl speechless.” He grinned at her, and opened the door to the restaurant. “After you…”

“Quinn.” She reached for the door handle again; her hand closed around metal this time. “Quinn Reynolds.” Oh, his voice. He should be announcing radio. Or saying her name, over and over again.

“Jonah Walker. Nice to meet you, Quinn.” Another smile, this one heart-stopping in its glory.

Walker? As in Walker Farms? As in Reece Walker? Reece was something of a legend; even Quinn knew who he was. Reece was one of the best baseball players to come out of their town’s program in the last five years. But he was also known for being a heart-breaker, a hard partier, and the ultimate bad boy. Quinn honestly lost count of the number of lectures she’d set through from her mother about how Quinn was not to socialize with any of the Walker boys.

“You too.” Quinn barely let herself return his smile before she darted into the diner and to her booth. She didn’t trust herself to look back at Jonah, because she already knew no matter what, staying away from him would be impossible.

For those of you who don’t know the super awesome Molli, here’s a bit about her!

Author Information

Author bio: Molli is a Southern writer who doesn’t consider her day complete if she hasn’t written. She loves coffee and talking fast, things she attributes to being raised by Gilmore Girls. She’s a romantic at heart, and brings that to her books. When not reading or blogging, she can be found obsessing over Doctor Who, cuddling her various pets, or spending time with friends, family, or her girlfriend.

In the Blood

Pub date: 5 November 2013
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Genre: Young Adult Contemporary, Thriller
Status: Standalone

For seventeen years Jed Franklin’s life was normal. Then his father was charged with the abuse and murder of four young boys and normal became a nightmare.

His mom’s practically a walking zombie, he’s lost most of his friends, and the press camps out on his lawn. The only things that keep him sane are his little sis; his best friend and dream girl, Summer; and the alcohol he stashes in his room. But after Jed wakes up from a total blackout to discover a local kid has gone missing—a kid he was last seen talking to—he’s forced to face his greatest fear: that he could somehow be responsible.

In a life that’s spiraled out of control, Jed must decide if he chooses his own destiny with Summer by his side or if the violent urges that plagued his father are truly in the blood…

Chapter One

Pedophile: Noun

An adult who is sexually attracted to children.

Chapter Two

Benjamin Franklin. My Dad.

Not that Benjamin Franklin.

That Benjamin Franklin.

Pedophile and murderer.

Freaked out?

Did you even know a bastard like that could lead a regular life?

With a wife and two children. A son and a daughter. No, nor did we. Until it was too late.

Too fucking late.

The numbing shock when he was arrested. The disbelief. The conviction that the police had gotten it wrong. Way wrong. Even in the face of damning evidence, we knew that the truth would come out. That the evidence got switched. That there was a cover up, or something.

Then the police found locks of hair belonging to each of those dead boys, so well hidden in the little trinket box my dad’s mom gave him on her deathbed.

Then we knew. Really knew.

And that’s when our lives changed.

Will the Real Abi Saunders Please Stand Up?
Pub date: 6 May 2014
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Genre: Young Adult Contemporary
Status: Standalone

Abi Saunders might be a kickboxing champion, but when it comes to being the center of attention, she’d rather take a roundhouse kick to the solar plexus any day. So when her trainer convinces her to audition to be the stunt double for hot teen starlet Tilly Watson, Abi is shocked—and a little freaked out—when she gets the job.

Being a stunt double is overwhelming, but once the wig and makeup are on, Abi feels like a different person. Tilly Watson, to be exact. And when Tilly’s gorgeous boyfriend, Jon, mistakes Abi for the real star, Abi’s completely smitten. In fact, she’s so in love with her new life, it isn’t long before she doesn’t have time for her old one.

But when the cameras are turned off, will she discover running with the Hollywood A-list isn’t quite the glamorous existence she thought it was?

“Abi, for God’s sake, concentrate,” Zak shouts. “Fairies don’t look like elephants when they fly. Legs together, arms graceful, and glide. Please.”

My cheeks are crimson and I want to die. I know he’s the director and has the right to holler, but doesn’t he understand that the louder he is the worse I am? We must have gone over this move fifty times and I still can’t get it. And I know, without even looking, the other guys have lost it with me. It’s easy for them but I’m a kick-boxer, not a freakin’ acrobat.

And now Zak’s saying something to one of the crew. Let’s all guess what it is: get rid of the silly girl. We couldn’t get anyone more incompetent if we tried. In fact a monkey could do better.

Well, he’s right, a monkey could do better. Then again, a monkey wouldn’t need to wear a harness that cuts badly into its thighs so it can fly across the room. We’re doing wire work, the one thing I was looking forward to. Ha. What a laugh that is.

At least we’re not filming yet. This is just the rehearsal or, as they say, ‘prepping’. We’re in one of the studios that’s full of equipment with pulleys and wires. I’ve no idea how it all works, except that it keeps me up in the air. I thought we’d be doing this outside but it seems they film wire work stuff indoors against a big screen, and then edit to make it look like it’s outside by dropping in a background. As Mom would say: “the wonders of modern science”.

What I’m doing is really basic stuff, nothing like the things they did on the Matrix. Which it wouldn’t be, obviously. I remember reading that those actors had months and months of kung fu training even though most of the stunts were done by stunt men.

Right. This is it. I’m going to really concentrate. I will not be beaten. I can do this. It’s not hard.

I’m a graceful fairy,

I’m a graceful fairy,

I’m a graceful fairy.

“Ready,” I call, for the first time feeling confident of success.

The technician holds up his thumb so I know we’re about to go. I take a deep breath, point my toes, bring my legs together and hold out my arms at a forty-five degree angle. So far, so good. I swallow hard as I begin to move.

Yay, I’m doing it. I’m actually doing it. Please let Zak say it’s ok.

“Hu-fucking-ray,” booms Zak’s voice. “At last, she’s got it.”

I’ve done it. I’ve actually done it. I can do wirework. And even Zak’s sarcastic tone can’t spoil it.

A loud crash, sounding like someone slamming the door, gives me a start and I jerk backwards. My legs splay and I lose all control of my body, until suddenly I’m hanging upside down.

This so isn’t happening to me. My hair flops into my eyes and my arms dangle in mid-air. And let’s not even think about how shallow my breathing is.

After what seems like an eternity (which is probably only a few seconds) someone starts a slow handclap. And here’s me thinking it couldn’t get any worse.

I figure it’s Zak and wait for everyone to join in. Except they don’t.

The silence is deafening. Until…

“Look at that crazy bitch. You’re surely not expecting her to be my double.”

Tilly Winters in the flesh. And none too happy to see me!
