The Whimsical Mama

<3 Such is the life of a stay at home mommy and Army wife (:

Please Be Kind, Rewind: 4-17 May 2014 May 17, 2014

I’m such a goof. I had last week’s post scheduled and never worked on it so it posted in part. oops! So I combined two weeks. I have gotten a ton of reading done which has been NICE! For reviews, I’m now scheduled through the middle of July. Whoa. Since I’ve read so much, I took a few days this week to get ahead on here and not just on paper. Thanks to City of Heavenly Fire coming out in two weeks, I’m re-reading The Mortal Instruments so it should give me enough to get ahead so I can launch another new feature soon! (: Well, it’s a rework of a feature I started and abandoned cause I wasn’t as prepared as I wanted to be. New name, same idea. I have to get The Selection books soon because Bug keeps trying to steal the library books. She grabs them, points to America, and says, “pitty! (pretty)” I’m not complaining, because I really enjoyed them! Hopefully she’ll read them and like them when she gets bigger!

Waiting on Wednesday #10: Altered October 16, 2013

“Waiting on Wednesday” is a weekly event hosted by Jill at the Breaking The Spine. It showcases upcoming releases we’re anticipating!

My pick of the week is:

Altered Book 2 of The Crewel World Series

 by Gennifer Albin

 Coming: 29 October 2013

Publisher:  Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR)

Summary

Life. Possibility. Choice.
All taken from Adelice by the Guild—until she took them back.

But amid the splendid ruins of Earth, Adelice discovers how dangerous freedom can be. Hunted by soulless Remnants sent by Cormac Patton and the Guild, Adelice finds a world that’s far from deserted. Although allies are easy to find on Earth, knowing who to trust isn’t. Because everyone has secrets, especially those Adelice loves most. Secrets they would kill to protect. Secrets that will redefine each of them. Torn between two brothers and two worlds, Adelice must choose what to fight for.

In this thrilling sequel to Crewel, Adelice is about to learn how tangled up her past and future really are. Her parents ran to protect her, but nothing can save her from her destiny, and once she uncovers the truth, it will change everything.

Why I’m excited
Crewel is another recommendation from the lovely Jodi Meadows. I lucked up and won a copy in a Facebook giveaway this morning! I became reacquainted with this series during the YA Scavenger Hunt earlier this month. Rereading the description of this series made me super excited that Altered comes out right after my birthday! (If anyone needs a good gift idea, pre-ordering this for me is a great plan!)

Why I need you to be excited
Another series to jump into with me! (: I keep finding series that are in the middle/end to jump into. Plus this world sounds fantastic! And look at that cover! It’s beautiful!
